A brief pause

Right now im waiting on more funds to get the ignition wires...when I pulled them off the plugs, the sheaths were hollow. Not very conductive. So I need coil-plug wires and a starter rebuild kit. Then I should have what I need to make it run. :)

My fuel valve and air filter came yesterday...I feel like im finally putting things together instead of taking it apart.

Battle plan

I got the wiring diagram today, now ill need some sprinkler wire :) and to start splicing...

Next...

Here the bike is very very naked ;) I cleaned the carb yesterday, the floats, and the jets seem fine. It seems like the wiring, and hoses need some care tho, the whole fusebox has been bypassed, ill have to fix that.

Complications

I got the fork seals today, and in my quest to find a petcock and carb kits, it looks like, since this bike is the first time Yamaha used downdraft carbs, there is no kit. But, all is not lost, I CAN order all the parts separately...and I found only one place that can order the petcock, unfortunately its 109 dollars! But its necessary, being that my bike doesn't have one.

And so it begins...

Just got it. 1982 Yamaha XZ550RJ, I have alot of work to do.
